The Signal Behind

When the right tools resonate, one operator outputs like five.

Resonance Stack is a small publication about AI workflow automation and self-hosted local inference. We publish one deep review a week, written for the people who pay their own bills.

What we publish.

Long-form teardowns of automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier, Activepieces, and whatever launches next) and local LLM infrastructure (Ollama, Gemma, self-hosted RAG, the hardware that runs it). Each review is built on weeks of real production usage, not a thirty-minute trial.

We also keep a notebook in public — short notes, pricing-change reactions, hardware findings — under Frequencies. The notes are how we think out loud; the reviews are what we publish when we're sure.

Who it's for.

Technical solo founders. Indie hackers running their own pipelines. Small B2B teams in Asia and globally who care about real cost, real limits, and data sovereignty. If you've ever spent an afternoon arguing with a vendor's "operations" billing model, you're our reader.

How we run our reviews.

Principle 01

Production, not demos.

Every tool we publish on runs in our own pipeline for at least sixty days. If we won't trust it with our publishing, we won't recommend it to yours.

Principle 02

Receipts, always.

The ledger is the lead. Every cost claim ties to a real invoice; every latency number ties to a logged execution.

Principle 03

One verdict per piece.

Every review carries a waveform signature — one of five, from clean signal to noise floor. No "it depends" hedge buried in the closing paragraph.

Principle 04

Affiliate-aware, not affiliate-driven.

We do take affiliate fees where vendors offer them. They never set the verdict. Every link with one is flagged in the piece and on our disclosure page.

The waveform vocabulary.

Each review carries one of five signatures. They are the publication's shorthand — a verdict you can read at a glance from the homepage.

№ 01 · CLEAN_SIGNAL

Strong recommendation. Use it.

№ 02 · STEADY_PULSE

Solid, reliable choice. Boring in the best way.

№ 03 · INTERFERENCE

It's complicated. Depends entirely on your use case.

№ 04 · DAMPED

Good for now, won't scale. Use it knowingly.

№ 05 · NOISE_FLOOR

Not recommended, or experimental only.

Who writes this.

A two-person editorial team based between Taipei and Singapore, with a rotating bench of guest reviewers — engineers who actually run the stacks they write about. Bylines are real. Contact details for every author live on the masthead.
